Hello, I’m currently on an extended fast. My goal is to go 21 days on just water and snake juice. I did several 72 hour fasts before I jumped on this one. I’m currently on day 8 and I feel a lot worse. The first couple of days were okay. After day one I didn’t really feel hungry but now I’m hungry. The hunger started yesterday on day 7 so I drank more snake juice, drank a lot of water and laid down thinking I’d feel better by today but I feel a lot worse. Thankfully, I don’t have a headache. Any advice on what I can do to curb this feeling?
ETA: I’m a F (25). I was 299lbs on day 1. I am fasting for weight loss and a better relationship with food. I’m avoiding the scale for now because I don’t want to get discouraged Incase I don’t see any progress on the scale.
In my experience if you feel bad on a fast longer than 3 days, it’s only going to get worse. Eat something. Seriously. Fasting is great but if you’re not listening to your body, you’re doing more harm than good.
Why are you this? It makes absolutley no sense. First of all go eat something doesnt have to be much but like a salad with some steak or something.
If you wanna lose weight go on rolling 48s or rolling 72s. Drink enough snake juice, rest enough, manage your stress, have low carb refeeds and you will be golden and the weight will go off. Cole says a lot of times there are no real reasons for extended fasts over 7 days. And from the things I have seen on here the benefit of 7 day fasts vs. 2 meals a week vs 72s is minimum at best.
You got to the state your are currently at not by overeating for a week or a month of a few months but by overeating for years. Take ownership of that and work the problem on steady pace and accept it will take time and hard work to get this off.
