Hi all! I’ve started with IF a month or so ago, it was very gradual, started with 14:10 and then I incremented the fasting hours to 16:8 (the first time I fasted for 16 hours was SO HARD!) then 18:6 and now I can do 20-21 hours fasting quite easily.
I haven’t lost that much weight so far, only 2kg / 4.4lb at the beginning, but I guess I don’t have a lot to lose in general. I’m 34F, with a starting weight of 64kg / 141lb, current weight 62kg / 136lb and a goal weight of 58kg / 127lb.
I think it’s going to be a slow process, especially because it’s really hard for me to not “cheat” in the sense that I have a lot of social occasions where it’s hard to stick to the diet.
For example, I have 3 dinners out planned this week and 2 next week. I can’t say no to going out with friends and going to social events, not after having locked myself in the house for 2 years during the pandemic. My question is: is it okay if I do 16-20 hours fasting and then I go out for dinner? Basically I don’t have lunch and have dinner with friends with the occasional drink? Would that still count or am I just messing it up? When I fast, I do a clean fast, only water or black coffee. I also have an elliptical bike at home and I would like to do exercise for 30min 3 or 4 times a week.
Thanks! Have a lovely day!
.6 lb a week at <10% from target is solid.
I move my window all the time. Sometimes that means a 36 hour fast…a 24…a 16. Overall, as long as my average Ina week is on target…cool. more and more study is suggesting there is some benefit to cycling it. Could it marginally slow things??? Sure…maybe. but you are essentially running the same fasting hours in a week…
