Is 16:8 good for weight loss?

I’ve seen many people posting about 18:6 or 20:4 and lost a lot of weight but what about just 16:8? Thanks.

Answer

I did 16:8 for a good while with low-carb CICO and lost a bunch of weight, you’re fine! I know a lot of people (myself included) end up fasting for longer periods once they’ve done 16:8 because they get used to how it feels to fast, but 16:8 is a good way to ease into it and you can always increase fasting periods in the future if you want to/maybe do a few longer fasts a week while mainly sticking to 16:8, do what’s comfortable for you

Answer

I tried 18:6 and 20:4 but for me personally it’s unrealistic to be able to fit an entire day’s worth of nutrition into 4 hours if you’re eating mainly healthy foods. I do 16:8 with calorie counting. I’ve lost 50lbs so I believe that combination works very well. Google TDEE to find yours and buy a food scale, and track your calories and nutrition with an app.

Answer

Yeah, it worked for me too the first month. I started trying to move up to 18:6 and then 20:4 and now 20:4 feels easy to me. I didn’t move to 18:6 because I plateaued, i did it just to make IF more effective.

Answer

I lost about 8lbs with 16:8 in three months. It helped me to eat less junky snacks. I still eat carbs and walk few times a week? Not super intense. But now on my 4th months weight is steady and not going down. So I try to push couple more hours here and there when I feel good.
