Zero weight loss after a month of 16:8 IF

I’m 34(F) 5’7” 200lbs I began IF a month ago and have been trying to drink more water eat better and not as much and be more active like walking and biking more. I weighed myself today for the first time and it’s very discouraging I haven’t lost any weight whatsoever.

Does it take longer than a month for ketosis to kick in? Is it bc I’m a woman? I’m new to fasting so I’m asking what other people’s experiences are so I can understand better. Any information is appreciated thanks in advance.

First, don’t get discouraged. Congrats on sticking to the IF for a month. That is an achievement in itself.

1.

Are you sure you tracking everything you ate ? Including any snacking or anything that you forgot to log or include?

2.

Are you taking body measurements ? and Are you taking before and after pics ?

There are so many instances where the number on the scale doesn’t go down but people see drastic differences in either body measurements, before /after pics or clothes that used to be tight fit better now.

3.

Are you working out ?

If you are, then it is possible that you are adding muscle which is why the number on the scale isn’t going down.

Have you tried OMAD? It is taking Fasting to the next level and eating only One Meal A Day!

Typically within a 1 hour window. Eat until you are comfortable full and eat healthy foods when possible, like a protein and green vegetables and possibly a fruit occasionally but try to keep all you eating in that 1 hr. window. So for instance if you eat between 6pm and 7pm try to eat at the same time the next evening. There are also lots of YouTube videos and teachers of OMAD. Good Luck! I started IF last week and I’ve been doing 20:4. I’ve lost 8 pounds already. My sister tried to do 16:8 and found it didn’t do much for her either. Maybe you need to try a longer fast! My husband does a really drastic fast and only eats one meal every 45 hours and has lost over 50 pounds in the last 2 months! That’s way too drastic for me haha the longest I’ve done so far is 30 hours and it was super hard but seeing the difference on the scale keeps me motivated! Good luck with your fasting journey!
