Looking for articles on the non weight related effects of fasting

I’m looking for reading on how short term fasting affects the body on a cellular level in non-overweight subjects. i’d like to better understand what is actually happening and what the effects are on things like cancer cells, tolerance to infection, breakdown of other unwanted cells, etc..
Thanks

Hmm you might find something if you search the anti inflammatory effects of time restricted eating. This influences a lot of pathways in the body. You can also look into autophagy, but we have no way to measure that on a cellular level. We can just say if it’s happening or not by the proteins present.

Dr Longo in Paris is somewhere you can start. Maybe even with dr. Fung too

Make sure those studies are human studies too! If it was mice studies, make sure they kinda convert it to human markers. like 24hr fast for mice roughly equals to 5-7 days for humans for the markers.

It is like very tricky out there. Some “news feed” articles would taalk about how amazing fasting is with mice studies, and then recommened us humans to do the same… it isnt the same!

I recommend you read the book “Lifespan - Why We Age and Why We Don’t Have To” by David Sinclair (Harvard Researcher). You can also look him up on YouTube - he has some talks there. He gives you the information on what fasting does at the cellular level. Extremely interesting!
