Measuring rice calories

Hello all, I am trying to weigh my rice and I always struggle with knowing how many calories it has exactly. I heard 1g=1 calorie or so, (not using oil ik) but I am confused still. Would greatly appreciate some help.

Answer

Unless you’re growing the rice yourself, the rice you desire to measure out is more than likely coming from a bag, box, or some other storage container. Being that container more than likely comes from a food manufacturer, said container should have a nutritional panel on its packaging that lists out the serving size and calories per serving. Refer to that.

If you don’t have access to the packaging (e.g. you threw it out to put the rice grains in Tupperware), then visit the food manufacturer’s website to obtain the nutrition info, if not electing to do so from the database of MyFitnessPal, Nutritionix, Calorie King, or other food tracking app.
