Most effective but safest way to fast in a pandemic?

I would love to hear you guys’s input. I have experience doing fasts, ranging from 1 day to 30 days. I am still on my weight loss journey and obese enough to put me in a high risk category for covid. This is why I do not want to undertake any risky fasts. However, I also want to lose weight as quickly as possible.

Would 3 day fasts with 1 day of eating and then another 3 days etc. compromise my immune system? If so, what would you recommend instead?

I have been vaccinated twice and am due to have my booster shot in December. Thank you guys in advance!!

Why would you assume there is a link between fasting and catching covid - and then somehow being at greater risk of more severe consequences.

Clearly there are no studies and no one with any knowledge on this matter would be on Reddit answering your question.

Put a mask on, become a shut in, disregard and stay away from everyone you know and love, let someone poke you with their long needle and don’t go to work or buy food. You will lose weight very quickly and get that beach body you want 👍

Answer

Fasting doesn’t inhibit the immune system. It gives the body more energy to fight with and allows you to metabolize things faster.

The 3 day plan would be perfect (if you are into that length of fast) because you start regenerating white blood cells after 3 days. Ultimately, the major increase with this strategy comes with the refeed.
