New to IF. Would like some beginners advice

My wife and I are interested in starting IF. We were thinking of starting with OMAD because she mostly only eats once a day after work and it would fit our schedules the best. What are the benefits of this method, and is this a good “starting” point to consider? What has worked for you all? Any advice is welcomed and I’m ready to answer questions if need be. This sub has been particularly motivating and we think fasting will be the right way for us to get in the best shape of our lives. Thanks everyone!

The key to anything like this is it has to be sustainable. Doing OMAD is great, but you might need to work up to it. 16/8 is often a good starting point, and then stretching it. But if you start it and can’t maintain it, it won’t work. But if you can do OMAD right off the bat, fantastic! Give it a go, but if you feel you can’t do it, don’t give up. Scale back a bit, and stretch out the fasting window until you get there.

Also, drink a lot of fluids. If you like herbal teas, make a big cup when you feel hungry and make a bit of a ritual out of it. I also drink a lot of flavored, unsweetened, sparkling water. Those things give some flavor and zero calories, don’t break your fast, and make me feel less hungry.

Good luck!
