Nutrition facts that state "one or more of the following"

How is this even allowed? What if someone had a problem with some specific ingredient?

How about saying, “fried in oil of unknown type and origin” :P

The reason this bothers me is cause I want to avoid soy, but I can’t find ANY brand of fries that actually says what they use. Literally all of them say the exact same thing. It’s like they were all labeled and manufactured by the same company. I hate this consolidation and monopolization we have in the US.

Does anyone know a brand of fries that either doesn’t contain soy or have no oil (you fry yourself)?

Are there just frozen cut potatoes?

Answer

Or you could just cut and make your own. Be proactive about the problem. If you really want or need to be on top of your nutrition it comes with doing most things yourself because it can be hard to rely on most brands and store bought things.

Answer

In general, if you have a problem with specific ingredients, you should avoid any foods that may contain them.

In terms of brands of fries though, check out Whole Food’s 365 brand. They only use canola oil. The best option though would be to just buy potatoes and make your own french fries. That way, you can control the exact ingredients.
