Hi all - I have been IM for about 2 weeks now. I stop eating at 10 PM and break my fast at about 1PM the next day.
One of the reasons I got into IM is because I used get really sleepy after lunch, and I heard IM might help with that. On the contrary, these past few weeks the sleepiness has hit me like a truck right after breaking my fast. I have tried doing everything to hold it off - going for a half hour walk after eating, espresso after lunch, etc but nothing gives!
For reference - my lunch is quite varied but usually includes protein, carbs, fruit, and veggies.Any tips or advice for anyone experiencing the same issues would really help.
I heard breaking the fast a little earlier with a high protein snack / shake might help? Any science to this? Thanks.
I have not had this problem but i think it might be because i am taking smaller meals. I am using 8 hr 10am-6pm eating windows. I do have a teaspoon of MCT oil in my morning coffee. I break fast around 10am with an apple or yogurt. I exercise over lunch at 12 for about 40 min. Then i have a small bowl of leftovers for lunch, something like a serving of brown rice, veggies and meat. I feel good and energized all day.
