I’ve been attempting to intermittent fast for the past few months. I attempt 18:6 but at least always make 14:10. I see all these success stories and pictures and it gets extremely frustrating! Can you guys help? I don’t really know what else to tell. Maybe you can ask the right questions? Thanks in advance!
Maybe what times you fast could help. I tried doing it by skipping breakfast, but would get light-headed at the 12h mark. I now have an eating window of 9h to 17h and it works great for me. No bad side effects and the weight is coming off fast.
Some easy ways to step it up are to cut sugar and alcohol, and to fast for 18:6 more frequently. I usually step it up in stages when I am not getting results. People tend to post the most extreme successes. I love seeing them, and they should keep doing it. But many of us are a little more gradual. Are things going in the right direction at all?
Stop comparing your progress with anyone else. This is highly personal, from food choices, exercises, life style, ecosystem, to preexisting mental health conditions. Just focus on you. Fasting takes practice. Do 14:10, until you can do 15:9, do that for a while, figure out where you struggle, work on that, then move when your ready to 16:8.
TipsDrink water before you eat.Leverage sleep as part of your fasting period.Use a tape measure, the fit of your clothes, periodic pictures in addition to the scale.Do meal prep for a week out.Consider working with a therapist in tandem with your body transformation. With longer fasts increase your electrolytes too avoid feeling tired and cramping.
Good luck!
