Had been entertaining doing IT for a while and I took the plunge and tried OMAD for a day to see what it would be like. I was very surprised to find that after about an hour past when I would usually eat dinner hunger pains mostly went away.
This continued the next day and I felt like I almost didn’t need to eat lunch. I went ahead and ate lunch anyway, and now I just feel fine. From what I had read I had expected OMAD to be much harder than what I experienced.
I’m 246 Lbs, 6’2 18 year old male if that could help answer my question.
OMAD is the way to go for me atleast cause it helps me focus on what i an doing and o feel its pretty easy cause i dont have to be think what to eat for the day i just get home and eat a salad and protein (Beef,Chicken, and/or Fish)
This has been my experience as well. I get hungry around the time at which I tend to eat most frequently, give or take an hour or two, whether I actually end up eating or not. Presumably Ghrelin is high, leptin low and my digestive system prepares in anticipation of a meal – or that’s my ELI5. Of course not everyone has it that easy, be it due to issues involving these two hormones among others, or perhaps difficulty in distinguishing common hunger sensations from e.g. exhaustion or lightheadedness (hypoglycemia? hypotension? electrolyte imbalance?) or cravings driven by pure affect (boredom? anxiety?).
i think this varies wildly depending on the person. i find OMAD+ super easy, because i’ve eaten one meal a day for a very long time (i just drank soda/other sweet drinks and ate snacks). i don’t even tend to get hungry until 6PM-ish, even before starting fasting.
i think people who are used to eating 3 times a day have a much harder time, and then again it depends on the person. overall, happy for u!
