Questions about OMAD

OMAD seems very intriguing, however I have always counted macros (40/40/20). It’s worked, I am just curious to know if I need to count macros with OMAD? Do I need to eat .6-1g of protein per lb of body weight? Can I work out as normal? When is the most optimal time to workout to not fatigue?

I’m looking to body recomp. I’m 5’9 190 looking to get to 165-170. I’m in fairly good shape now because I’ve always been an athlete and have been weight lifting for 9+ years.

Thanks again:)

>It’s worked, I am just curious to know if I need to count macros with OMAD?

Depends on your goals. In the general sense you need to be even more aware of what you’re eating because you’re trying to get all your nutrition in one go.

>Do I need to eat .6-1g of protein per lb of body weight?

Eat whatever protein goal you personally adhere to, but yes if you have fitness goals you should be eating in that range.

>Can I work out as normal?

Yep.

>When is the most optimal time to workout to not fatigue?

Whatever feels best for you. Some folks prefer/get used to fasted, others prefer working out after eating - or even splitting it based on workout type. Just got to experiment with what works for you.

Answer

Do I need to count macros, or eat so much protein? No, that’s the beauty of OMAD. It’s simple and only has one rule: Eat one meal a day.

Can I work out as normal? When to work out? Yes, but when you start OMAD you will be very hungry. You may be more hungry if you work out in the morning, but that’s what I do and it hasn’t affected me much. The common wisdom on this is that the best time to work out and not fatigue is right before your one meal, but a lot of people do not follow this.
