So I screwed myself and agreed to a job and have to lose weight quickly. My employers think I’m 20 lbs lighter ( put on quarantine weight because there was no work). I’ve done 48 he fasts before but it was rough. I’m looking to lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks. Anyone got any tips? I’m 170 , 5’5 female.
I’ve done a couple 9 day water fasts and one 7 day water fast.
Day 1 is hard. Day 2 is harder. Day 3 and 4 are quite difficult. Day 5 is similar to Day 2. After day 5 your body begins to help you. By Day 7 you feel like you could go a month without eating; you’re just not hungry and your body is rapidly healing.
I drink fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice in my water when I fast but I drink nothing else, no crystal light, no fake sugar - it will make you crave food too much.
low level cardio is best for fat loss as high intensity will make it harder to do over multiple days there’s a reason people loose alot of weight walking HIIT is good but steady state cardio is best for fat loss while fasting i noted it helped me lose more weight
I’m on day 7 of a 33 day fast. I’m not hungry at all and my energy is amazing. The first three days were crazy difficult but once u get through that it gets much easier. Right now I’m averaging a 2lb loss per day but I also walk 5 miles per day.

I’m trying fasting too! I’ve done 24 hours so far and am trying for the next 5 days. I’m 151 lbs, 5’2, and I hope I can soon cut it down to 120 (before quarantine) or even more to around 105, but slowly. This is going to take some time but I’m determined to do it :)
Hi there, I’m nearly the same measurements as you OP, I’ve gained a lot of weight not just due to COVID but also due to a surgery. You said you gained back some of the weight- how long were you able to fast-?
I’ve done many fasts (1 day, 3 day, 4 day, 5 day) 4 day used to be the most beneficial. When I was a lower weigh I could usually lose about 10 lbs in 4 days. This seems to be challenge for me now.
When choosing to fast it take time to get the body ready. To answer your question it will be hard to lose 10 lbs. per week and lose it in a healthy way. The average quick weight loss during fasting at “one meal a day” is around 4-5 lbs. in a week.
The first week of fasting you will likely lose 7-10 lbs. of mostly water weight then it will slow after that. Fasting is a combination of the right percentages of fats, protein, and carbs the normal percentages are 70% good fats, 20% protein, and 10%. what percentages your body may need varies.
No 2 people are alike in what your ideal percentages are. it takes time to experiment to find the sweet spot for your body. Longer fasts than one meal a day should be monitored by a medical professional when you start. I have been fasting for several years now and this is my lifestyle. I eat one meal a day 5 days a week and 16-8 2 days a week for the last 2 years.
