Re-Feeding After a 5-day Fast

Hi, all. I’m almost at 72 hours of what I hoped to be a 120-hour fast. I’ve never done more than 86 hours before. I’ve never taken electrolytes during 3-day fasts and have always been fine, but starting to take them now, although not sure it’s enough. I feel normal, though. I’ve started reading about re-feeding syndrome and now I’m paranoid about my 5-day fast! Especially since I’m flying across country all day on Day 5, and won’t hit hour 120 until evening when I have a dinner planned out. I’ve never had issues with re-feeding after 86 hours, and was planning on sticking to salmon, veggies, avocado at dinner. But now I’m worrying I’m putting health at risk. Any advice? Should I just break at 96 hours before flight next morning?? I’d like to lose weight, but not at expense of my health, obviously. Thanks for any help!!

Answer

Just did a 5 days fast and broke with chayote and an egg omelette filled with cheese. After a while I drank a whey smoothie with strawberries and chia seeds and ended up eating two pieces of blondie. But I feel fine and tomorrow I’ll start my normal 23:1 fast and Saturday I’ll start another 5 days fast :)
