Really cold extremities during the day just from 8~ hours of not eating.

Hello!

I want to introduce fasting, I have certain goals in mind and I see it clearly how fasting will be helpful for me. However, I’ve noticed that when I eat, say, breakfast in the morning (9am), and then at 5-6pm my hands and feet are already really cold and if I go to colder environments (rooms that are not heated well, let’s say), I start almost shaking and trembling for cold.

Is there a way of dieting or doing something else in order for me to not experience these things when fasting? Or I simply have to go through this for a couple of days until the body starts utilizing fat in the body and then heat itself up that way?

Because when I eat a meal after being cold, in like 5 to 10 minutes I can feel myself becoming warmer and warmer.

Answer

Not a doctor, but my body does this as well. I always figured it was a survival mechanism, your body shutting down non essential functions to keep going. I also have hypothyroidism but I take meds for it.

Heaters help, and getting up and doing some jumping jacks, getting the heart going helps. I notice it most when I’m stationary at my office job.
