What do you snack on when you feel hungry but don’t want to eat an actual meal? (Something that’s easy to prepare or ready to eat)
Must be healthty! Mine: pistachios
“Healthy,” means something different to each person.
To me, it means whole-foods (single ingredient), minimally processed, and full-fat (where applicable) and low-to-no added sugar.
So I have a huge sweet tooth and what’s been helping me to survive the day is making chocolate, nut butter, banana bites.Recipe Here
I make a batch ahead and throw them in the freezer!
I also eat Greek yogurt with a fruit like pineberries or pineapple.
Cashews.
A mini charcuterie board- I go to aldis and buy the three meat packs, a cheese or two, cashews, olives, and pickles…. Sometimes grapes or dried apricots.
I also LOVE dried okra. I’ll buy a big tub from sprouts or the fresh market.
Lastly, sometimes you just need a little toast. So I’ll buy gluten free bread and toast it with some butter, or with olive oil, balsamic, and dipping spices. Or if I’m feeling a sweet tooth, I may add a light layer of jam.
My go-to is a bowl of Greek yogurt (with flavoured protein powder mixed in), topped with berries, banana slices, nuts and seeds. I found some really good Lemon Meringue protein powder that makes the yogurt taste like cheesecake.
I also like rice cakes two ways:
Sweet: Caramel Choc Chip rice cake with peanut butter, banana slices and cinnamon
Savoury: Cheddar rice cake with Laughing Cow cheese spread, pizza sauce and turkey pepperoni
i’m studying nutrition in school and i like to have a balanced snack with carbs, protein, and a healthy fat so that it keeps me satisfied! my go-to right now is a combo of apple slices, raw almonds, and sliced turkey! :)
