I’ve watched Dr. Jason Fung’s video on the benefits/drawbacks of skipping breakfast vs dinner while doing TRE (https://youtu.be/7iG2tp_BdEM) where he says skipping dinner is more effective, but the focus there is on weight loss. I, however, am underweight already and want to try TRE for autophagy and mental benefits instead. Will skipping breakfast be just as effective in terms of those goals? If I skip dinner it might actually be hard for me to get enough calories. Another big consideration for me is whether one version can cause more sleep disturbances than the other, because I already struggle with poor sleep.
I’m also under weight and have done IF for a while with skipping breakfast. I believe either one can work for you and it comes down to preferences and schedule. I have always been a late eater so I skip breakfast and sometimes lunch. I prefer this since I can be more productive early. Regarding sleep I definitely experience issues with eating too close to bed time so I try to plan ahead what time I stop eating ( but I don’t plan when I start eating)
