Sugary drinks - Alternative options?

I usually stick with water or black coffee..

But atleast a few times a week when my fast is over, I give in to bad drinks… Root beer, Gatorade, Mountain Dew, the list goes on..

I’m not really a dessert person, but I know these drinks pack in just as much sugar..

What drinks do you guys go to when you’re tired of water?

Have you tried sparkling water at all? To me it often does the trick of when I would be craving a soda. Spindrift has about 15 calories because it has a touch of juice for flavor, but I really enjoy it. But I find La croix and Waterloo do the trick as well.

Answer

During my eating window I’ll mix a little cranberry juice in with a lime La Croix to have a something with a little more flavor. It prevents me drinking a whole glass of something sweet and you’re diluting it a lot. During my fasting period I’ll add a fresh lime wedge to mineral water if I want something a little different. This one is especially helpful in the evening when I might have had a gin and tonic in the evening.

Answer

Personally, I love water so it’s not really an issue for me but when I’m within my window I sometimes do crave something fizzy and yummy so I’ll grab a Gingerade Kombucha (JTs) and drink that. Almost like a soda but healthy!

If there is a Kroger near you, they sell a root beer flavored seltzer that is pretty awesome. I haven’t been able to find it for a while, though. I also really like the Simple Truth brand orange vanilla - tastes like a creamsicle!

I also like Bigelow cold infusions - they have one that is strawberry with citrus. It’s refreshing and unsweetened.

I gave up sugar for a few weeks and now enjoy a flavored sparkling water, water with some flavor drops/packets like mio, or zevia root beer if I have a soda craving. I think breaking up with sugar helped with this (stevia sweeteners helped me).

Most of my non-water consumption is coffee, hot tea, iced tea with lemon or lemon and ginger, or ginger water (powdered ginger in water)

Answer

I found a great alternative to soda that doesn’t have the diet chemicals and very very little sugar get some sparkling water like the cans doesn’t matter which brand and some MiO or whatever liquid water enhancer and mix them together tastes just like soda. I always use it when I don’t want plain water with dinner

Answer

I’m obsessed with sparkling waters and teas. Once I got out of expecting it to taste like juice or soda, I started to prefer it.

There’s also a brand of san pellegrino thats like half juice half sparkling water and it’s low sugar
