Hi all. I am looking for a helpful nutrition book that borders the line between textbook and mainstream nonfiction. I am a geneticist by career. Therefore, I am scientifically literate and do not mind a hard read. I’m just looking for something to cover the basis of what healthy habits are for your diet and how to create a balanced diet. Bonus points if the book covers practical daily habits.
With you being a geneticist, I would suggest Deep Nutrition. It was the most difficult book I’ve ever read because it was so science-forward, but definitely an interesting read. Talks a bit about epigenetics
There is a book ‘Genius Food’s by Max Lugavere…..he seems to promote a balanced diet of meat, vegetables and fruit…..that is what you should be looking at…..books that promote balanced eating from all the food groups….
Mastering Diabetes
Even if you aren’t a diabetic it uncovers a lot of things many diet books fail to uncover. Things like how to eat healthier. It challenges the ideology of sugar is bad.
Written by two Type One Diabetics with a PhD and MPH that have experienced first hand the benefits of their diet.
