Walking during a 20:4 fast

Hey you guys, I was wondering if it’s safe to go for a light walk during a 20:4 fast during lunch time? I started my fast around 9pm and will be done at 5pm. I took my walk around 1:30 to about 2:10 just to keep it light. IF has helped me on top of a moderate carb diet, lose 60 pounds. I got a bit more to go, but it’s an awesome journey.

Hey there! I’ve been doing 18:6 or 20:4 for several months and I do at least an hour of vigorous excercise every day. I love walking and I’ve found this lifestyle gives me more time for those long walks during the day (1-2 hours). I would ease into it and drink plenty of water but I’ve never had problems aside from a random hunger pangs while working out once in a while. Good luck!

Yeah I would agree with liz5280. I have done some vigorous exercise during longer fasts. I’ve found that working out helps keep my appetite at bay in fact. Of course you want to listen to your body. I think light walking, if that’s what you feel comfortable with, is a great exercise to do while fasting.

Answer

Hey!

Yeah I would see no reason why not to walk, infect I would encourage it.

Great thing about walking is it gets you out the house and stops you thinking about food….well it does for me anyway

I do a more 20/4 approach these days and still walk plenty and hit the gym.

Hope your journey continues to be awesome!
