for the same reason that the plant-inclined eaters shit on keto: it’s promoted almost like a cult (here in Brazil we joke about crossfit practitioners behaving that way as well) with claims to health benefits far greater than the ones supported by evidence

being enthusiastic about keto/carbohydrate restriction myself (and shitting on wfpb promoters for this exact reason), I’m aware it’s simply a tactic aiming weight loss which works remarkably well for many individuals but that’s it. most benefits (or even negative health impacts) other than that are usually far-fetched
