Question for nutritionist’s

All I’ve ever wanted is to live of a type of “porridge”. I want something that can be nutritionally beneficially, I don’t care about taste really. I don’t understand how this hasn’t been invented yet, for us non foodie types. A simple “slop” if you wish, but with everything your body needs.

I’ve recently found “BOL POWER SHAKES”. It says “Nutritionally complete meal”, now could I actually have one of these for dinner everyday? Even eventually breakfast and dinner. They have all the vitamins/proteins etc etc. We eat foods to get the nutritionally value so if it’s all in one bottle, what’s the difference? Would this be healthy?

Answer

It has been invented: Glucerna, Jevity, Osmolite, Fibersource, Boost, Diabetasource, Nepro, Soylent Green , etc….. but why you would choose that over the joy of eating a variety of foods is a bit of a headscratcher.

Answer

you could eat a sprouted steel cut oatmeal with fruits, dark chocolate, coconut milk/flakes, hemp seeds , chia seeds, almond butter.

the thing is the real foods have the benefit for you… and i believe are probably better than synthetic/chemically created vitamins but im not sure

but if taste doesn’t matter and all that is extra hassle/not worth it to you then…

if you wanted to eat just one slop i would recommend for breakfast: steel cut oats or some type of oats with some type of real or plant milk but this liquid part should have some moderate amount of fat because the fat is nutritious and allows for absorption of fat soluble vitamins and then just add a protein powder/supplement that covers your protein and then just take a multivitamin with your slop… then you would get slop.

the thing is you can actually make it taste good

another thing for dinner you could just make a soup with brown rice or potatoes and throw in veggies and different meats, thats it, and it comes out as a slop and you could make a big batch of that and then freeze it

depending on what you’re doing (which will likely change cause thats life) your body would requires different things to operate optimally but those meals generally cover everything and you could get to the point where you’ve made enough for months in advance and have it systemized pretty easily

there has to be some food or calories in it to sustain you so just a powder will not be enough calories to sustain you. whatever nutritional powder/supplement you get will have to be mixed with something that has calories : a carb or fat, or carb and a fat for maximum absorption.
