Recently got into cashews, love the creamy flavor. I also like peanuts a lot, if you take a handful and eat it, it tastes like peanut butter. For cashews, I recommend Members Mark lightly salted whole cashews, and for peanuts, I recommend Kirkland super extra-large peanuts.
From what I have read, almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts are also very good for you. However, I have also read to avoid brazil nuts as they can give you selenium poisoning.
Peanuts in the shell or lightly roasted. They’re much cheaper than other nuts. Sometimes I’ll add raw almonds and walnuts into the rotation.
What is your source for the selenium poisoning from Brazil nuts??
Amazon’s “Happy Belly” is fine for giant bags of raw almonds. They’re technically a drupe. I like them because I can stop. I am often keto and nuts are just a little bit rich to be having all the time, but almonds are still my friends.
I keep some walnuts in the fridge and I eat some seeds, too - flax and sunflower lately. I grind the flax and sometimes other nuts - I have a little coffee burr grinder and I’ll put a little sugar in there and have nut flour dessert snack fluff, if the nuts aren’t going to cut it on their own. You didn’t hear about it here.
