What kind of interval would you recommend me to lose 6kg in 5 weeks?

I’m a female, 157 cm and 61 kg. I would like to lose 6kg until January, since I’m starting uni and would like to feel more confident in my body. What interval would you recommend me to start on with this goal and starting weight?

Answer

It feels like a lot, it’s 10% of your body weight, and probably a big part of you body fat.

Losing more than one kg per week is not really recommended health-wise, and usually only achievable by people with high starting weight.

As other people are saying in the comments, IF is not a “lose weight fast” method, it’s about long-term results and change of habits.

Answer

Regardless of what IF you are doing… Doing a back of the napkin calculation…. (it’s not perfect, but gives you an idea)

At your height/weight, your TDEE is about 1500 calories a day… That’s how much you need to maintain your weight (calories in - calories out type of thing… Again Not perfect)

You want to Lose 1.2kg per week, that requires a calorie deficit of like 9000+ calories a week, almost 1300 per day… Which at your TDEE it means you can have 200calories a day for the next 5 weeks to achieve your goal.

I’m NOT suggesting you do that, I’m just painting the picture of how crazy and unsustainable that goal is… You’d have to add heavy workouts to be able to have some spare calories to eat minimally decently, but it will be so little you won’t be able to exercise as much.

At your current height/weight, losing 0.5kg per week is already aggressive, but gives you 1000 calories a day which is manageable.

As others said, this is a marathon, not a sprint
