What to put in my coffee so I don’t break my fast?

I don’t like black coffee, and I need coffee in the mornings to wake up. What can I add instead of milk that won’t break my fast?

Answer

I love my coffee with milk and sugar. I’ve been using Equal. However, in an effort to break up sugar’s death grip on me, I wanted to make a clean break with all things that tasted sweet, calories or not. I needed to get that out of my system. I tried coffee without sweetener but with milk, I tried black coffee… couldn’t do it. Gave up on coffee (for now)

I have fallen in love with cinnamon tea. I get some of the cinnamon sticks and crack them up in a pot. I pour in boiling water and wait - a while (a lot longer than tea in a teabag). But its GREAT! It has a certain sweetness to it I can’t explain.

Answer

At first I just took coffee in shots mixed strong and followed by a sip pf water. Now I stopped taking coffee outside my feeding window so when i do drink coffee I can have as much sweetener and creamer as I want.

For every sweetener you can find research to support and disprove that it doesn’t break your fast but everyone’s different. Some people are more insulin sensitive than others.

Answer

I take it with stevia and a pinch of salt. It does raise my blood glucose slightly (From 70 to 84), but still keeps me in the fat burning zone. I have been losing weight consistently with this.

My suggestion would be to try a small amount whatever you decide to take and see if you are still getting the results you want. If you do, it’s okay to continue, IMO.

Answer

You could probably add a tiny dash of almond milk (unsweetened of course) and stevia for flavour. I did that and it was surprisingly good. Not sure if my fast broke but my jeans continued to get looser to take that as you will

Answer

I’ll be real honest with you: I didn’t used to like black coffee either but I drink it every day now and enjoy it well enough. It is possible to learn to like it through sheer force of will, if that’s something you’re interested in.

Answer

Maybe add less and less milk to gradually get you used to black coffee? If you just need the caffeine hit and don’t enjoy the taste you could also have espresso so it doesn’t take as long to drink haha
