87 hrs into a 5 day dirty fast, down 12lbs (188.5 -> 176.4)

<update with before / after posted in new thread>

Wanted to share as the numbers shock me and while I imagine a lot is water weight it is still very motivating. I feel way more mobile!

Female, 42, 5-9 SW: 188.5 CW: 176.4 Doing periodic fasts over next 2 months for weight loss, discipline, reign in my love for wine and beer

Salt Mag Potass Supplements Broth end of day 2 - 2 servings Coffee w splash of cream, Seltzer, Tea

Day 1 - 188.5 - easy, amazing sleep Day 2 - 183 - tired, lots of lounging and googling food, almost went out for steak and wine, decided to have a little Fond Bone Broth to get through hump, decent sleep Day 3 - 179.4 - tired, but focused did a 3 mile walk / run, 30 min of Supernatural on my Oculus Quest 2 (holiday gift, great and fun workout) Day 4 - 176.4 - horrible sleep likely due to some anxiety around something personal that happened. took CBD oil (1 spray) which knocked me out fast. Head feels very clear, feel strong, fasting is helping me accept the personal issue. In the past is just go grab a bottle of wine and end up feeling worse.

Will post before / after when done.

Fasting cause your sleep to be terrible that is the biggest drawback .What I do is fast full day and then eat the other it is very effective for me and find it better than continuous fasting and easier to mantain.

Good for you! I’m also 5’9 and started my fasting journey at 189lbs 4 years ago when I was 50. Began with a 7 day dirty fast then concentrated on eating keto and doing a lot of little fasts to stay in ketosis. By my fourth month I was down to 150! I’ve hovered around 150-155 for all this time until gaining 10-15 this past fall (a lot due to too much wine, so I get you!). I’m now committed to jumping back into clean keto and regular fasting and I’m sure the weight will melt off quickly. And, when I’m fasting regularly, the wine becomes less of an issue. We’ve got this!

You have inspired me to give this a try next week! I’m 43 F and I’ve had some success with IF to get down a few pounds, but my love for wine and beer has limited any real success in getting to my goal. I’ve also got an Oculous and love a good workout in the metaverse! Good luck with the next couple days, you’ve got this!
