A couple beginner questions!

Hi guys, brand new to this. Had a couple questions, any help appreciated!

  1. During a dry fast is it ok to have a LITTLE water or Zero sugar Zero calorie Gatorade once or twice a day?

  2. What are all the differences between a hard and soft dry fast? Is hard really that much more efficient? If so why?

  3. I’ve seen people talk about being careful coming off a fast, what does this mean and is this only if you have fasted for like 3+ days or?

Answer

  1. Dry fast = no water. If you are consuming water or Gatorade or anything that is not air, it’s not a dry fast 😉

  2. Hard dry fast = no water contact at all. Soft dry fast = showering and brushing teeth allowed (water contact). From my experience hard definitely yields better results, but you have to see it for yourself. This is mostly because completely abstaining from water prevents the body from absorbing it in any way. You notice more with longer fasts

  3. This is the refeeding period and yes it is much more significant if you have fasted for more than 3 days. The longer the fast, the more important the refeed. That being said, if you are a beginner, it’s still important even if the fast is brief! Your body can be shocked by the reintroduction of food and water after fasting from it, so you have to be gentle

Hope these answer your questions! 🙏🏻

Answer

Zero calorie Gatorade is garbage to the body with chemicals in it. I would recommend never drinking that on any type of fast or cleanse.

Other post here is good advice. I did several 1-2 day soft dry fasts before hitting 3 days and did a few of those before hitting 5 days. Some advise to start experimenting with water fasting before trying a dry but I probably not necessary.

Refeeding after more than 3 days fasting is serious.a lot of the healing comes during the re-feeding.
