A successful work week completed ! But I'm always hungry?

I recently started IF and completed a successful work week today. I’ve been doing 18:6 and along with that I’ve cut down my portion sizes and cutting down on sugar gradually. Although the scale doesn’t say it but I feel a positive change in myself (more mentally than physically). I love it and can’t wait to keep going. The only problem I face is that I’m always hungry. My mind always just keeps thinking about being hungry. How can I make that go away?

Also, i really want to thank each and every person on this community for the confidence I got to even begin to believe that maybe I CAN DO IT. THANK YOU GUYS !

It can take a few weeks for some of that to go away as your body makes a switch. This is your hunger hormones holding on too to some degree. Remember, this is a lifestyle change and it will take some time to adjust. Way to go making it through your first week and feeling better!

Have a look at the foods youre eating. Perhaps lower the carbohydrates and up the protein intake, carbs are the primary source of energy for the body and will get used up first. Proteins take the longest for the body to process and will keep you satisfied. Also have a look at the sodium intake and see if it could get tuned and lowered (lol what is that car talk? Im a car guy fyi) because an increased sodium intake can leave you feeling thirsty and two things that can get confused are thirst and hunger.

Just a couple of ideas from me on what could be leaving you hungry. Going back to the protein thing, protein should be the foundation of the diet and having enough of it if not a little bit more is okay.

I like to use the myfitnesspal website and app to build my meals for the day ahead and see where I could increase or decrease to really dial in the nutrition and stuff.

Hope this helps

Took some trial and error with what I ate. I do 18:6 as well, lunch @12, snack @3, dinner 5:30. Lunch is my biggest meal, snack is protein, dinner I need a good mix of carbs/protein/fat…fat was the biggie in keeping me satiated and less carbs (not low carb, but I notice a difference between 1 & pieces of toast) cause they make me ravenous by the next morning. Overall though I stick to Whole Foods, very little processed
