Anyone here has done a 5 day water fast?

What were your results? Tips and tricks for getting through? Hoping to shrink my stomach and loose some pounds! I want my body to use my fat as fuel. Does this actually happen when not eating? Also have a greater appreciation for food afterwards.

Answer

I have, but I can’t help you with tips and tricks 😔I just lived with eating disorders most my life….

I can tell you to.be careful though, you should at least have some berocca or similar vitamins and minerals tablet daily…

And go slowly /gently when you start eating again…

I have no advice. I’ve only ever tried a 72hr fast and my body hated it! It held on to every bit of weight it could and I gained 5lbs for a week afterwards, so weird!

Can anyone relate to this and tell me if this is what happens to some? Should i have pushed through to a 5 or even 7 day fast? I really want to do it twice a year for autophagy & cancer reduction possibilities but after 3 days I can’t imagine it.

Anyone?

Answer

Yes! I do it every 2 months. You won’t loose weight magically, weight loss is a marathon..just forget about the finish line and keep running.

Here are my tips:

Before the fast:

Start keto 3/4 days before the fast. It will jump start ketosis faster and will make the fasting easier.

During the fast:

  1. SALT! Do not forget to take a little bit of salt everyday.
  2. Do not drink too much water. It will deplete your electrolytes.
  3. Light exercise like walking or cycling. Without exercise, it will be harder to fast.

After the fast:

Start eating slowly. You will feel really bad if you take a big meal to break the fast. Start with soup. Introduce carbs later.
