So this year, we decided that we go often enough that we’d just buy season passes to our local Renn Faire. It runs Saturdays and Sundays for 8 weeks.
At first I joked - “I love the renn faire food so much, I should just fast Monday through Friday so I can pig out a bit on Saturday and Sunday”. The first day was last Sunday (closed Saturday because of the hurricane) and it was a blast.
Well ladies and gentlemen, it is now Friday and at hour 109, I guess it isn’t a joke anymore. Feeling great, really looking forward to some turkey leg tomorrow. Can I keep it up for 8 weeks? Let’s see if I can buy some smaller costuming by the end ;)
Also, disclaimer, I’ve fasted a bunch before - I do supplement salts, etc during the week. Just hedging all the comments about how I’m going to destroy myself ending a fast with crappy food, etc. For total transparency, I’ll be eating Saturday and Sunday but not EXCLUSIVELY Renn Faire food…. probably… mostly… :)

I just finished week 2 of something similar. I’m fasting Monday-Thursday and week 2 was way easier than week 1. Dr. Fung showed a study that says metabolism peaks at day 4 of a fast so I figured I’d try this for a few months.
