Brain fog

Hello, all - I’m going to be trying 16:8 (fast 6:30p to 10:30a). In some practice runs I’ve noticed a brain fog issue between about 9:30a and 10:30a (sluggish and passive), which is an issue because this is normally a high-energy productive time of the working day for me.

Have people found workarounds to this, does it naturally go away on its own, or is it just something I have to live with?

Answer

I feel that’s when I’m most alert.

You may be dehydrated since you’re just waking up. Try stretching and drinking water. Or maybe some black coffee if you need a small kick but it should eventually go away.

Answer

My fasting schedule is similar and I experienced brain fog, agitation, difficulty concentrating and headaches mid-morning at the very beginning. It went away after about 3-4 days of maintaining the fasting schedule.

I believe it’s part of the adaptation process. I don’t believe it’s possible to adapt if you keep popping in and out of it though. Maybe commit to a week and see how you feel at the end of the week.
