Day one of water fasting. Any beginner tips?

hi everyone, today is my day one of water fasting. i’m very stressful and desperate about my appearance at the moment, which is why i decide to go for this “extreme” diet. posting this for accountability! i’m starting at 170 lbs (77 kg) and i hope to lose 50 lbs in 3 months.

this is the first time i tried fasting so i’d greatly appreciate any beginner tips! i also have a few questions about water fasting:

1 - how long can water fasting last safely? maybe 72 hours? a week?

2 - after i finish my 1st water fasting, how many days should i wait before going into my 2nd water fasting? and what should i eat during those days?

3 - do you have any tips to overcome cravings?

4 - how quickly can i expect to lose weight by water fasting?

If you are only 170lbs, you will not lose 50lbs in 3months, thats overly optimistic, please adjust your expectations. Unless you will be doing a lot of prolonged fasts, over 72 hrs each time, and a lot of them. As a newbie to this you may not be able to do this all the time.

The longest fast on record was a consecutive 385 days. Whats your height?
