Does broth have too much sodium to break a fast with?

I’ve been fasting for a month now and it’s been going great until the last couple days. I’ve been feeling really nauseous and just threw up a lot of water. I’m thinking at this point I’m just going to go to low carb + IF.

Anyway, it seems like a lot of people recommend bone broth for the first couple meals, but I also read not to eat anything with too much sodium or carbs. So is broth okay? I’ve been taking electrolytes every day so hopefully I don’t have too many problems :/

Edit: To add some info, I feel totally fine now after being sick. No light headedness or anything. I’m wondering if I should try continuing the fast or the vomiting is a sign I should stop…

Answer

Unless you have high blood pressure or kidney disease, sodium should be as safe as anything is. I end long fasts with bone broth for a day or two, then bone broth with veggies and seasonings, then a big ol’ omelette with avocado and bacon.
