Feeling bloated during IF

Hi everyone,

I am currently on 8-16 IF, for a week now. IF is not new to me, I have done it before. Howeeeever, this time something weird is going on.

My eating times are 8:00 to 16:00. I usually have a bun (two after a sporty day), cheese and some fruit in the morning a long with black tea and milk. For lunch another bun with cheese and fruit tea (unsweetened) and at like 15:00 I eat a banana or a smiliar fruit. After that it’s only fruit tea (apple based kinds from the tea store, all unsweetened between 0,5 and 1L)

I get quite hungry at night and feel like I starve (it’s OK, I can cope :) ). In the mornings things change. I am not hungry at all when I wake up and actually feel like I had a feast last night, feeling bloated and full. Hunger only starts when I approach the local bakery to pick up my breakfast buns. I am definitely in need of food I don’t just eat because it’s a habit.

Why do I feel so bloated? Any ideas? Has someone had a similar experience? I checked, I am not sleep eating or something like that :P

Thanks for your feedback.

Answer

Your diet consists entirely of carbs. Fruit is pretty much sugar, and there’s no nutritional value in white bread. It’ll swell up as you digest it.

I’m confident that your bloating issues would disappear if you eliminated bread from your diet, and started eating more lean proteins and fats. Chicken, salmon, avocado, cheeses, olives, almonds etc.

Answer

Cut down some carbs and add more protein. Also, you might develop a lactose intolerance (happens for many people as they age and it’s natural) so milk might make you feel more bloated than a few years ago.

i have noticed how different foods now have a different impact on my body after doing IF n OMAD for a while.

the amount i eat is so little compared to what i used to eat.

eat 2 meals. recently had to change my meals. light lunch n heavy dinner (takes care of evening hunger pangs).
