I have an extremely positive experience with IF. Lost like 8 kgs the first time I did it. Unfortunately, I fell off the wagon and continued with my unhealthy eating habits. Ordered out every chance I got, chewed on snacks 24/7, drank soda like a teen. Decided enough was enough and started my first fast. Lunch rolls around, smashed my whopping 1 hour fast and ate like a dog. Felt horrible of course, but I said “Maybe tomorrow”, and oh what a surprise, guess what happened the next day.
Then I decided, nah I’m better than this. Downloaded fasting tracker and really went into this one. It’s soccer international break as well, which is a solid help because I tend to snack while watching games. My first fast : 11 hours. I was devastated but still, 11 hours wasn’t bad. I was hoping for 16 but broke down at 11.
Next day, 14 hours, okay we’re getting there. Next day 16!
After almost a week and a half since starting, I’ve now completed 3 consecutive 20+ hour fasts and am now in the middle of a 24 hour one. It does get easier guys, you just have to get through with the first ones.
This is really good advice! I agree it’s always good to give it time and be patient with yourself. I had an easier time at the beginning but now that I’ve lost close to 10 lbs my body is freaking out, which is usually when I quit my diets. I’m determined this time though and I like IF. I’m just a lot hungrier than I was at the beginning.
Thank you for that. I am trying to stick to 8.5h of eating window and this is my second day doing this. I had a meal at 5pm that leaf time full, did a workout, had another meal and 2 h later I am so hungry…I track my ckal and maybe I was below what I should have eaten but still…so hungry 2 h in and I still need to stand 12?!?!! So hard:((( I am glad you say it gets better quickly..
