Dumb/annoying problem, I know, but I’m trying to hang with an OMAD/23ish/1 schedule, complying really well, but not losing weight.
I think my body is hanging onto everything because I’m having trouble hitting 1200 calories/day and it’s in starvation mode. (I know how obnoxious that sounds. Let me add that the VOLUME of healthy meals relative to my beloved junk food is so insanely much to eat.)
Am pescatarian, so my OMAD usually looks like: A LOT of fish (usually tilapia, 12 to 16 oz), leafy greens, some fiber (usually beans), a couple of tablespoons of butter or olive oil (usually butter), maybe some chopped tomatoes, maybe an apple with peanut butter or cheese for a fast-breaking snack, occasional rice/bread as I want it. Have cut out alcohol except for one week night.
Super sedentary at the moment, so I’m definitely not recomping.
Help? Basically, how do folks have the room?!? I can eat about 2/3rds of a healthy 1,200 calories before I’m just stuffed, but could plow through THOUSANDS of junk food calories.
Also, I honestly can’t believe I have such a dumb problem. Y’all, I have a healthy appetite.
Eating too little calories can slow down your metabolism, but it’s not as much of a factor as most people believe. Are you counting calories? If you were actually eating 800 calories a day like you claim you’d be losing weight.
You probably actually have to increase your eating window for a bit to increase your calorie intake for your body to get out of the starvation mode (it’s most likely slowed down your metabolism by how much your calories reduced). Once that is fixes, you could try going back to OMAD or continue eating more but losing weight at a slower rate, only without your body thinking you’re starving.
