Help starting IF, food/meal ideas

Hi guys! Just looking for advice with meal ideas for IF.

I started for the first time last week doing 16:8. Things are going well but I feel like bread makes up a large part of my diet at the minute!

I usually have two meals a day and most of the time my meals involve chicken, egg, baked beans and seafood. These are usually accompanied by some form of bread be it in a sandwich or with some toast.

I’m not a big fan of most vegetables and am looking for something I can substitute in for bread every now and then to mix things up.

I’m trying to up my protein intake as I hear it leads to feeling hungry less, and am aiming for below 1500 calories a day.

Anyone have any suggestions for meals/foods that I can substitute in.

I like to make bowls with rice, a protein and a veggie and sometimes sometimes a sauce. Korean BBQ sauce is amazing, or teriyaki but you can really use your imagination here. Having the veggies thrown in with everything else helps to mask them a bit, and it’s super easy to make.

My approach is to simply sub as many of my less great carbs for better ones. Whole grain bread, brown rice, etc. Mostly trying to avoid the most processed flours and sugars.

As for vegetables, a lot of folks kind of get off veggies because we’ve cooked them bad for so many years. Taking the time to roast them or learning to blanch/steam properly goes a long way.

Focus on good high quality protein sources to maximize protein per calorie. Each gram of protein is 4 calories, so you can always do the math on how much other stuff you’re getting. Seafood for instance is typically almost pure protein, with stuff like shrimp even beating out a lot of protein powders at protein per calorie.
