How are we feeling about doing more than just cardio during a 3-4 day fast

Haven’t looked too much into it but would anything more than cardio be ok during a 72-96 hour fast? I’m leery of lifting because I’ll wanna have a source of protein after which will break my fast so just leaning towards cardio only.

Here is a link to a video saying that you NEED to lift during a fast or you will lose muscle. It’s dr attia, and he understands fitness, fasting and longevity better then anyone I have come across.

Yeah I would do some resistance training, even if it’s just body weight, to not lose muscle mass. So many resources say if you stop resistance training and start a fast, you lose more muscle than fasting while resistance training. Doesn’t have to be hard either, just keep using your muscles.

Lifting is great when fasting. It helps you hold onto your muscle and your body increases natural production of HGH in a fasted state so you’ll get better results. Just take it slow, make sure you’re hydrated and have enough electrolytes.
