How can I go from 5 days to 7 days water fasting?

Well pretty much that, I did one successful 5 days water fast but would love to do 7 days. Do you have any tips or experience on adding 2 days? I felt ready to eat in my fifth day so I know it can be hard. Thanks in advance!

Answer

Do more 5 day fasts. Each time see how your body feels and get used to it imo. Push a bit further if you think you comfortably can but really focus on how you feel and get used to it

If you can do 5 days and your electrolytes are good, you by rights can do 7. BUT depending on your personal situation (known or unknown issues with your health) - you might need to take it slowly and let your body adapt. That’s how I do/did it anyway

Also you might find that 5 days is good for you. I did. I only went up to a week once, 6 days twice but find 5 a great stopping point for me and my situation

Refeed for me is small, nutrient dense “snacks” (they feel like full meals). Again, your body is going to be different so experiment and see what foods react well. Chew thoroughly and eat slowly. Aim for low calorie amounts per meal. You might want to dive in but this is a mistake. 60–800 cals (roughly 3-4 small meals) is my first day break. Slowly build up from there. It usually takes me 2-3 days to get back to business as usual. Variety (nutritionally) in your meals is also super important

Carbs (especially fruit) make some people feel terrible coming out of a multiday fast. Fiber can be really hard on some people’s digestive system and makes them feel bad. Some people find protein really uncomfortable. It really depends on you (in my case, protein and fiber make me feel best so scrambled eggs with broccoli and flaxseed and some fats with a couple of nuts. Bone broth is also a good jump start for me)

Hope that helps. Good luck
