I started IF 16:8 a week and a half ago, and I gotta say it’s going great. It’s not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be, and I never feel bloated or sluggish from overeating anymore! I am curious, however, how long it will be until I start to see some results regarding weight loss. I’m not expecting a miracle or anything, just curious when I should check in with myself and make adjustments.
I have lost 65lbs and I’m still convinced I look the same even going down pant and shirt sizes. I like to weight myself everyday because I like the data and see the trend of losing weight. I feel better but I don’t see better.
I do OMAD so my results are a little more expedient. I say, take measurements of your waist, wrists, stuff like that and write it down in a journal, or something. Do this maybe once a week and see if you’re shrinking. Also, scale once a week?
You see yourself every day and the change is so gradual that you don’t really notice it visually. Most people notice changes when they put on a pair of pants they haven’t worn in a while and they’re loose.
I just finished my first month IF yesterday. 35F/SW: 188 CW: 179 TW: 140 & 2.5 of those 9lbs lost were the morning of my official “one month done!” So while I cant really tell yet by looking in a mirror, I did take progress photos and took my first measurements yesterday. I started with 16:8, made it through Christmas & New Years without compromising too much, and didn’t make too many adjustments to my diet. Currently doing random 16:8, 18:6 & have done two 20:4 days as well.
Can I ask what your goal and start weights are? Also, are you exercising? How many days a week? Then, during your window what are you eating? These are some of the basics but it should help establish your goals and what can be done to help.
Been doing 16:8 for 6 weeks and only started seeing results on the scale this week. I’ve been taking measurements of waist, hips, etc throughout though and those have been showing more consistent results from the start which was motivating for me. Recommend not weighing yourself too often it was driving me nuts not seeing any progress!
