I love breakfast!

Has anyone gone the fast from noon to 7 am just so they can have breakfast and a quick snack mid morning? I love my hot creamy coffee. I love brunch. Can people that have experience with skipping lunch and dinner instead please let me know if that worked for them in the long run?

If I had no family obligations I’d be a breakfast and lunch only person. It’s healthy and satisfying and easier to sleep knowing breakfast will happen. I do this sometimes and it feels better than lunch & supper. But I love supper because I cook and it’s the most important family meal, the only time we gather most days.

Anyway, yes. It’s technically called “early time restricted eating” and is very good for you.

I love eating breakfast food (eggs, bacon, cheese etc, not empty carbs like cereal) for lunch or dinner. If it works for you, it works for you, I wouldn’t stress too much about when you decide to make your feeding window sit. I really don’t think it makes that much of a difference.

I used to do breakfast and lunch and skip dinner. I did that for about a year. I have an easier time with my lifestyle now skipping breakfast, but there’s no reason it wouldn’t still work. In fact- I remember hearing a factoid that people who fast and skip dinner tend to eat fewer calories without internationally restricting than those who skip breakfast.

The challenge for me was staying distracted in the evening when others are eating, or when I’m alone. I countered that with a cup of tea, an entertaining book or show, and lots of ice water.

Now I never miss my cheesy herby eggs, but I try and move them to noonish. And I’m a lousy, dirty faster who just does a dollop of cream in the coffee if I feel like it.

Good luck!

I used to do that. Although it was generally 9am to 2pm. But yes it was very effective. So long as I had decent food at around 1pm, it wasn’t hard at all and I got good sleep too. It doesn’t work at the moment because dinner is a social meal.
