Yes, I eat high carb, lots of bread and rice and cereals. I do 18:6 mostly, and steadily lose weight.

I eat burgers and ice cream and drink scotch, but the window is magical. No doubt I’d lose more weight if I lowered the carbs and cut out the burgers, but I’m pretty happy with how things are going now.

My experience is that keto is really great early on, for clearing health issues and getting used to IF.

However,

once down to the more stubborn leftover fat, it seems moderate carb IF does a much better job.

Started at 524 lbs in October, just about down the first 100 (cw is 425), all with CICO+18:6.
I eat high protein + fibre, don’t really care what the rest of my macros are as long as I hit protein and fibre goals. I do strength training 4x a week and cardio 3x a week.

Losing as a whole-foods vegan and 18:6 🙋🏼‍♀️

I eat rice, quinoa, beans, and fruit daily. Lots of dark leafy greens. No added sugar except for a recovery shake after long rides (Tailwind Recovery) on the weekend and no oils. Some weeks I eat a daily slice of homemade whole wheat sourdough, some I don’t.

I’ve done keto in the past, but I no longer eat meat and was very tired of the yo-yo’ing that happens if you aren’t keto forever. YMMV but I feel more satisfied focusing on fiber and protein with minimal fat.

If you’re not insulin resistant CICO should work just fine.

If you are insulin resistant, CICO with timed eating may work.

If you’re insulin resistant and CICO with timed eating is making you miserable with cravings try high fat keto.

I just started hf keto (80/20), 19/5, 500<TDEE. I feel amazing and am losing weight daily. But I’m an insulin resistant, menopausal Celiac so my body doesn’t respond to less extreme measures.

Yes I eat most carbs (never eat bread at home though), & I have lost 12kg in the past few months.

I fast all day Monday & OMAD Wednesday - Friday

I only hold myself accountable for the Monday 36hr fast. If I mess up any other day I just shrug it off & carry on.
