Ultimately only you can answer that. If you’re confident you’ve built up enough of a deficit during the week and that you won’t go completely unrestricted, then you’re still making roughly five days of progress a week. It’s just going to slow it down a little.

Personally, I like to split the difference. I don’t worry as much about timing on the weekends - though hold to it when I can, but I still keep to roughly eating the same overall. For me that’s keeping all my calories to two meals at most and trying to limit snacking to little to nothing.

I think it’s great to take time off to spend time with your family. Eating is a social thing and a lot of the resistance we get to fasting is due to the fact that we aren’t eating with friends and loved ones. You will still have benefits. Being too rigid can sometimes make others think we have eating disorders.
