Question regarding drinking coffee during fasting window.

If this is the incorrect way to ask a question feel free to let me know - this is my first time posting.

I’m aware that you can drink a ‘moderate’ amount of coffee during fasting without breaking it, however what is classed as moderate? For example, when I’m in the office I can usually drink 3/4, sometimes 5 cups of strong black coffee. Am I bordering on breaking my fast by doing this?

Answer

As long as it’s black, you can drink as much as you want. In fact, if you drink it right before a workout close to the end of your fast, it burns fat better than not having coffee before your workout. It might have a slight impact on insulin, but not the kind that would interfere with autophagy or kick you out of ketosis or affect growth hormone.

Answer

I not an expert; so please don’t take my word to seriously.

But as far i know, if doesn’t have sugar added (or been part of it’s composition, ingredients or so) then didn’t break a fast.

There was some noise about how coffee have “negative calories” since it was proposed that if cost more calories to metabolize, that the ones it have, but it was prove that isn’t the case.It has (as all things in this consensual reality) its benefits and its risk, so maybe a more professional perspective is needed (and of course, what works fpr me, maybe won’t be useful for you and viceversa).

I hope this may be useful, and if im wrong, i gladly take the new information.

See you!

I’m a strong black coffee junkie now. I do not consider the (miniscule number of ) calories in it, nor do I think about it as anything other than a delicious bitter drink. And I probably drink at least 5 cups.

Answer

I drink about 4 cups of black coffee during my fasting. There are some schools of thought that autophagy will be affected because anything that is not water will trigger the endocrine system in order to process that which you consumed. But, there is no evidence to support that in my long search and Dr Fung says black coffee is fine during fasting and I will stick with that recommendation!

I have seen mentions of black coffee helping the fat burning process and increasing digestive system efficiency in several websites. So, my personal recommendation is to drink as much as will not give you acidity or acid reflux.
