I started Jan 1st using rolling 4 day fasts.
Lost 35 lbs.
But now I’ve ate every day since Friday.
Feeling like I’ve failed.
Now I step on the scale for it to be stored on the phone but too scared to look at scale reading since Friday.
I must have gained half back..
Fasting for too long creates regain. I recommend 48 hour fasts or alternate day fasting. This way you get used to eating food and you can eat smaller portions. This prepares you for eventually when you will eat one or two smaller meals a day to maintain weight loss. Best wishes 👊🐍
In the same boat after a six day, don’t punish yourself. It’s a life long endeavor. It’s not about losing the weight as much as it’s about developing a relationship with your body and food - you start to trust it will survive caloric deficits and get you where you need to go - which is just the start of your relationship.
Oh man happened to meet too. I did a 4 days fast last month and then I binge ate in a Brazilian steak house and I felt dizzy and nauseous for the rest of the week (like 3 days), I was even scared of getting refeeding syndrome 😂😂(it was no joke at that moment though). I have been doing all types of fast for like 3 years, being my longest 120 hrs. Now I like to do 36 hrs or 48 hrs once or maybe twice a week depending on food and activity and I have found that is more bearable, getting the same benefits and feeding window more controllable. Anyways, if you did a 4 days fast that means that you have an iron will so… do it again, just don’t get stuck, don’t look behind, look forward!! Good luck!
Honestly this is a downfall of the sjd. It can have people developing a habit of yoyoing and binge eating. I still like it but it requires mental toughness sometimes. It’s really hard for me to fight the urge to binge. I force myself to eat my normal calories (2000-2200 at 6’2”) after beaming my 48-72 hr fasts.
