Refeeding after 21 day fast

I’ve seen different suggestions when it comes to this and was wondering what the best way to go was. Here’s what I’ve found and wonder if it’s a good process to follow.

Day 1-4 - bone/vegetable broth, protein smoothies, fermented drinks and veggies, fruit and well steamed veggies Day 5-9 - can add in raw veggies, well cooked vegetable soups, healthy fats (avocado, olives) Day 10+ - Meat, eggs, dairy starch

Also, on the first four days how often should I be eating? Small amounts every 2-3 hours? Sorry for all the questions but this is the end of my first prolonged fast and I want to make sure I’m doing the refeeding process to the best benefit.

Answer

Cut the fruit, protein shakes, fermented drinks and any vegetable that is high in carbs from the first few days. You want to avoid insulin spikes at any cost. Not only is it possibly dangerous, but also you will REALLY feel it. Even after just 7 days I collapse after the first carb-y meal. I also think it is a good idea of a day or two of just broth with maybe some coconut oil/ghee in it. Believe me, it will feel like an indulgence.

Regarding portions: you will get full much faster. If you eat as you described, I would just let my body tell me when to stop.
