Resuming IF

So I’m resuming IF after a break of two years and I started fasting yesterday. I didn’t plan to do a long fast but it just feels so good, I’m on hour 21. Is this a bad idea?

If your body can handle it, if it’s not presenting too much issue for you to fast longer, why would it be bad?

I just restarted IF last week myself after four years. Was able to do omad off the bat. It hasn’t done anything negative to my body, rather on the contrary, I’m losing steadily. There aren’t negative side effects for the majority of people by fasting longer. It really comes down to what works for your body. Remember 12-18hr window is ketosis, 18-24 is fat burning, 24+ is autophagy. Find yourself a good tracking app and stay the course if this is what you want for yourself.

Answer

OMAD feels pretty natural to me now most of the time, so I don’t believe 21 hours is bad. I probably wouldn’t extend beyond 36 hours when just starting back just because of potential digestive surprises. Don’t need any unnecessary disaster pants!
