I’m 34 years old and female. I am 5’1” and weigh about 150 pounds. I my goal is to get to about 120 pounds. I haven’t weighed that little since high school but I believe it is a sexy and sustainable weight for me. I lost 15 pounds in the last year doing super restrictive powdered protein type food. Donated a kidney and just “can’t” with all the powdered protein anymore. I believe fasting will be awesome for me. I can’t “fudge” with it and just add 100 calories here or there. I felt super deprived and obsessed with food. That’s what gets me. I have 3 small kids I still have to cook for and I love food.
I’ve completed a couple 24 hour fasts and have done fantastic with that. Currently about 20 hours into a 48 hour fast. I swear I can feel my cells start to regenerate at about 20 hours in. I’m a little nervous about 48 hours, but I can do this.
Anyone had success quickly losing 30ish pounds with shorter fasts (48 to 72 hours) and Keto refeeds in between? I say quickly because I need to see results to stay motivated. It seems all the fasting posts are from people who need to loose hundreds.
Success stories? Tell me I can do this!
not a success story but i’m almost the exact same height and weight as you and my goal weight is the same as well!! i’ve started a 72 hr fast night as well, so i’ll join you on this weight loss journey! we got this!
I’m also 33 and 5’1! I started at 166 last August. I’m down to 130 now with OMAD and Keto! It works! (I’d be farther along but I took a break October- December 31st and gained back about 12 lbs but I got back on the wagon January 1st!) I do 48s here and there and I did 1 5 day but I didn’t get the drastic weight loss with the 5 day fast that others seem to get and the end I felt like I was dying so I’m sticking to rolling 48s and OMAD! We’ve got this! Being short makes weight so much more obvious and it’s so frustrating! Set small goals, and do it one fast at a time! Over time it’s just gets easier and easier 🥰
You can do this! I am 23 hours away from ending a 21-day fast. If I clock in at 254.4 with tomorrow’s weigh-in, I will have dropped 40 lbs in 21 days and almost 60 from my all-time high. If I can do 21, you can handle whatever you set your mind to. Be careful with that solo kidney, tho! Oh… one more time… you can do this!
I’m doing this for the second time (and succeeding) after losing my way and gaining weight from being in the alcoholic beverage industry during COVID, all while in my 40s with a shit metabolism. Believe me, you’ve got this.
IF (be it 16:8 or OMAD) + longer “repair fasts” have saved my life, twice now, and have done way more for me than keto ever did. Not to mention, that community is absolutely toxic. Stay the course, don’t get discouraged with weight fluctuations, and don’t get lost with diet distractions. Fasting works.
