Skipping dinner, working out & timing of meal

Hey, I have been doing a 16/8 fast everyday for the past week by skipping breakfast. However, I feel like skipping dinner might be a better option for me personally, as I tend to be in a way better and more energetic mood if I eat something in the morning.

Now my question is, how detrimental to staying in shape and building muscle would it be to work out after my last meal which would be at around 4 PM? I have read that it’s best to eat a high protein meal rather soon after working out. But if I were to skip dinner, I would be working out and then not eating anything until the next day in the morning.

Answer

It’s fine. The body doesn’t stop looking for the resources to repair itself just because someone didn’t drink a protein shake within 30 minutes. Most of that is pushed by the fitness industry and/or matters for folks training at the highest level.

Adding a consistent work out to your routine and hitting daily protein goals is most of what matters.

Answer

I personally sleep better after i eat but that simply is a life of always eating before bed. Bodies can really like. Bad habits and it can take a long time to get used to change.

I think your fasting change should just work fine. Just make sure you still have the wnergy to push hard in the gym :) Good luck!
